Lemmenlaakso — Attraction in Helsinki sub-region

If I should name one place where to visit in Järvenpää, it would be Lemmenlaakso, a nature protection area, some kilometres east from the centre of Järvenpää. The area is very well maintained. There are two parking lots, good quide boards, directional signs to show where to go, and the trails are clear and easy to walk. For visitors, there is a porch where to grill and even to bunk, and besides, there is a barbeque shed in the area. The route is easy to go through if one is in normal condition.

Even though late June birds were singing, most interesting of them were Wood Warbler and its much rarer cousin Greenish Warbler. The main trail goes through many habitats, and Kerava River flows beside the main trail, making the landscape so verdant, almost rainforest-like. It was early weekday morning when we went there, and there were almost no other people in Lemmenlaakso. It was pure pleasure...

Lemmenlaakso Nature Park offers a serene and mystical experience, especially in winter, with its snow-covered trails and frosted landscapes.

However, the icy and slippery trails call for caution, so visitors are advised to wear sturdy footwear with proper grip to ensure safety during the colder months.

The wooden steps in the forested sections often retain ice, posing an additional hazard, so extra care is needed.

Despite these challenges, the park’s beauty remains captivating, with frozen streams and tranquil surroundings offering a peaceful escape for nature lovers.

Even during the snowy season, the park is believed to host rich wildlife, giving visitors the opportunity to spot unique species or tracks in the snow.

Käsittämättömästi heitteille jätetty mutainen risukko. Lähitien äänet peittävät luonnon äänet melkein kokonaan ja ruskeassa, risukkoisessa joessa lojuu läjäpäin muovipusseja ja kanistereita. Kulku ilman saappaita ei kannata. Polkujen parannukseen ei satsattu yhtään mitään, joten pienikin sade ja ne ovat täyttä liejua. Pitkospuut ja porrastukset tehty ns. vuorikiipeilijästandardin mukaan, eli jokainen vähänkään pienempi, vanhempi, tai polviongelmaisempi ihminen jää ensimmäiseen portaaseen huomatessaan että tilaaja/urakoitsija on laiskuuksissaan tehnyt ne n.35cm korkeiksi.
