We visited on two occasions. Once for my son to try skiing and another time for snowboarding. He participated in a two-day course for each sport, both with an instructor.

Positive Feedback
Everything was smooth and easy to understand, even for a non-native Finnish speaker. The instructors were exceptionally friendly and supportive, making my son feel included and comfortable. For the first time in his life, he actually loved a sports class. His Finglish was accepted as it is, which made a huge difference. The slopes were perfect for him, and he always wanted to stay longer on skiing days.
The café food was decent for a facility like this, and we particularly enjoyed bringing our own BBQ ingredients and using the well-maintained outdoor grills for a great meal.
Constructive Feedback
Rental office staff friendliness The staff at the rental office could be more welcoming. I am not sure if it was my appearance (brown hair and light brown skin), my Finnish accent, or just the traditional old-school Finnish customer service style with no smiles, an irritated tone, and cold, uninviting body language. This is something I have encountered many times over 46 years. A simple smile or a basic question like “Is this your child’s first time?”, “Do you know what you need?”, or “How can I help?” would improve the experience.
Chicken box naming issue When we ordered the chicken box at the café, we expected proper chicken strips or drumsticks, as we have received in other countries. However, we were surprised to receive only a few small chicken nuggets. If this is the intended dish, it might be better to rename it to chicken nuggets meal to set the right expectations for customers.
Challenges (That Cannot Be Changed)
Crowded grilling areas Many people sit by the fireplaces even if they are not grilling, which is understandable in cold weather but makes it difficult for families who actually need the space to cook and eat.
Wet toilet floors The women’s toilets were particularly uncomfortable due to wet floors from people walking in with snow boots and ski boots.
Café seating issues The tables were almost always full, so we learned from experience to find a table first before ordering food. On our first visit, we ordered first, only to struggle to find seating. By the time we did, our food was already cold.
No public transport access The location is only accessible by car, which became an issue when we realised our son could not visit independently on weekdays. This limitation forced us to look for other skiing and snowboarding spots in Uusimaa that he could reach on his own next year.
Overall Experience
Despite some small drawbacks, the place was wonderful, and my son had an amazing time. He loved skiing but was not as fond of snowboarding, although he liked both instructors enough to be open to trying both courses again...
Read moreLovely place to spend time with the family. The slopes are not the Alps, but as far as Helsinki area goes they are very good, well maintained, good selection of slopes and lifts on the easy and medium level. Slopes can get a bit icy but they do use artificial snow to cover it. There's a fire pit area to prep your own sausages, caffeteria, bouncy castles, sledging slope with a lift and a ski rental, where a set of skis for 3 hours costs 25e. The only minus is the ski pass price - 30e/3h brings the total up when having a...
