A friend and I stayed for two nights. First we stayed the night at "vuorinuotiopaikka" then we hiked to "kalkkiruukin laavu". It was a peaceful yet daring and successful attempt at a hike. Neither of us had any experience hiking with a heavy backpack but somehow we both managed to make a trip little over 15 km. It was fun and I'd do it again but with a little more research. There isn't a well at "kalkkiruukin laavu"'s direction but there is one at "Ängesböle tulipaikka" where we wore supposed to go but went to the wrong parking lot and ended up in the wrong place. So we ran out of water pretty fast and had to boil some. Oh and please take to consideration if there's a forest fire warning DO NOT light the campfire. Lucky us we brought a kerosene stove which is allowed during such a warning. But yea I'd recommend if staying for long to go from "kalkkiruuki"'s direction to "ängesböle" otherwise I wouldn't change a thing. Was a great and safe Juhannus. Nature is a beautiful and wonderful place. Please treat it with respect and take your...

I stay near vantaa and from here it is one of the nearest national park to go either by walk or by bike.

I had a walk with the help of google map and as usual it ended up taking me to a restricted area entrance and i had to walk back around 1 km to go to another route and reach the national park.

It was evening time when i reached there. There are grills available with woods to be used. You can have a plunge in the lake swim, get yourself warm around the wood fire.

It has some great trekking trails and this time around I couldn’t try much of it. I would update my review post doing a trail trek later some day.

It was worth spending an evening in tranquil admist nature.

Highly recommend someone who loves nature to visit this national park and give yourself that much...

Very nice and big park. We chose the orange route which was long and at parts a bit challenging. When we visited some parts where a bit maddy so I wouldn't go on flip flops or sandals. There is a cafe at the beginning of the walk where you can get snacks beverages and alcohol. If you need to use the toilet there is one in the cafe and in a couple of spots throughout the park. Also some people go for a swim to the lake
