You can really relax in this place. |Arrival and parking area on the sand, also for motorbikes. Reception in connection with the shop and basic service. |The room was spacious and boring. The bed was quite ok, the window could be opened and there were mosquito nets. There was no fridge, no air conditioning or fan. The shower was great and the water was not saved. Good pressure and warm water. The painted tiles in the bathroom seemed to change color. Good luck with the duration. |Beer. The terrace was really peaceful. No music or loud talking. Even farts were allowed inside. |Food. The tea table was praised. I don't know why. The meat pie was the only tasty food that chased away hunger. It would have been worth choosing an evening meal where there was bread, cold cuts and other normal food. Cold cuts were left out of the selection for breakfast and you can't just put an egg and cheese on the bread in addition to some lettuce. It was a pretty ascetic place, if you really want to discipline yourself, it's worth having lunch here and staying for...

"Haiseva lato". Majoitus on teoriassa savuton. Suomen kiertomatkallamme yövyimme 6 eri tason majoituksessa, joten...

We stayed two nights in the monastery in the 4 beds guest house (red building), ground floor. It's very minimum. The mosquitoes net at the window has holes so it didn't do its job. We reported to the hotel. Unfortunately no action was taken. Hopefully they fix it for the next guests.

The beds give cracking voice. It's only great if every guests respect the quiet hours otherwise you hear every movements touching the floor from your upstairs neighbors. Bring your own toiletries, mosquitoes spray, ventilators (lol).

The breakfast is included. It's basic. The restaurant serves lunch buffet and as well dinner.

It's great for quiet time. Walking route is available.

I would think twice to come back here...

Excellent guided tour. Took about hour and a half. We had alot of questions though. Our guide first asked if were Greek catholics and adjusted the tour accordingly. He had vast knowledge about history, the day to day life of the monastery and he explaind the religion very well. Truly recommend the guided tour. The surroundings are nice and there are two church that you get to visit and other sites. There is also a little shop where they sell candels, book and wine and a restaurant. There is a place where you can stay for a night in a motor home with fresh water, toilet and a barbeque place. Very peacefull and beautiful place by a lake. It's a small place. Only about 8 place for the cars but very nice.

A peaceful, beautiful area of Finland steeped in history. Well worth a visit, if you remain respectful of the atmosphere and culture. Rules include silence between 10pm and 6am, no photography during services, and no photos of any personnel or those living there. I would also recommend coming closer to winter for the quieter season. Food is served from 6am until 6pm (9pm on Fridays and Saturdays). There's a range of pastries and sandwiches, or the lunch/dinner buffet. The latter is more expensive but the ingredients are quality. The local cat is also very friendly and worth watching out for ☺️
