Hitonhauta — Attraction in Jyväskylä sub-region

Three years ago we were in Finland. A great family we got to know brought us here for a hike. It was the middle of March with temperatures around 0C (32F). We walked through snow and pine trees. Soon we entered a valley with rock walls. A short time later ice waterfalls appeared on the valley walls. Children played and adults enjoyed the sceen. I stood behind a ice waterfall. This place has something new to see every time. In winter there is a frozen waterfall, in the summer the waterfall is small and there are small ponds and brooks and it’s dry and easy place to visit. In the spring and fall the amount of water makes it a bit more challenging but also steps up the brooks and the air in the canyon becomes very moist.
