We stopped on our way to Lapland to explore the magnificent Hepoköngäs. This waterfall has been voted the most beautiful in Finland several times - and for good reason. Even in winter, you can feel the power and beauty of the frozen waterfall. The walking route from the parking lot to the bottom of the waterfall is about 800 m in each direction. A beautiful, easily accessible hiking destination. Wheelchair accessible and in general wheel accessible. I visited in spring 2021. While bikepacking so I could easily cycle to the foot of the waterfall on my bike. There is a parking lot nearby and wheelchair accessible dry toilet as well. I didn't cycle into the...

We stopped on our way to Lapland to explore the magnificent Hepoköngäs. This waterfall has been voted the most beautiful in Finland several times - and for good reason. Even in winter, you can feel the power and beauty of the frozen waterfall. The walking route from the parking lot to the bottom of the waterfall is about 800 m in each direction. There is a rest area with a toilet at the head of the waterfall.

Wirklich toller Ort und grösstenteils barrierefreien. Absolut lohnenswertes Ausflugsziel. Vom Parkplatz ca 15/20 Minuten durch ein Bilderbuchwald.
