Hiidenvuori Hill — Attraction in Lahti sub-region

A nice place on an island which is the meeting point of geologically two different kinds of rocks hornblende rapakivi and granite, especially knowing that there are not so many hills in Finland. Views are magestic views from the top of rock. The top of the hill rises 60 metres above the Kymi river. This hill is largely comprised of granite and that is why it has survived erosion during the ice age. There is a diverse vegetarian in the forest comprised of rich groves of trees to scrubby areas and dry sandy pine forests.Nowadays this hill serves as the local landmark for many boaters and certain events are also held therein summer time. Valtakunnallisella tasolla arvioin paikan 3 tähdellä. Maakuntatasolla taasen täys 5 tähteä. Yksityiskohtaisemmalla arvioinnilla maisemaluokitukseni on 4 tähteä: hieno ja laaja järvimaisema. Korkeusluokitus 2,5 tähteä: huippu on opasteiden mukaan 60 m korkealla järvenpinnasta, josta "vuori" eli kalliomöhkäle on ehkä reiluhko 30 m ja loput vajaat 30 m on loivaa metsäistä laskua järvelle. Helppousluokitukseni olis 5 tähteä: matkaa tuli vaivaiset 350m parkkipaikalta ja pahimmat paikat pääsi kaiteista portaita pitkin käveleen. Rannalla oli laavu, laituri ja ulkohuussit. Olen käynyt paikassa n. 2-4 kertaa vuodessa kymmenen vuoden aikana, joten olen ihan pitänyt tästä lähiretkeilymielessä ja suosittelen paikkaa. Huomioitavaa em. lasten kanssa on kuitenkin se, että huipulta on aikalailla äkkijyrkkä...
