Pyöräretkellä Kouvolasta Lappeenrantaan oli sopivasti puolivälissä ja poikkesin, kyllä kannatti. Juuri sopiva paikka jaloitella, tutustua muureihin, yrittää hahmottaa linnoituksen kokonaisuutta ja lukea hyviä opastauluja. Kaikki varsinaiset rakennukset ovat hävinneet, mutta kivimuurit ovat jäljellä. Ota omat eväät mukaan!

Taavetin linnoituksen rauniot ovat upea näky ja ihana paikka pysähtyä vaikka piknikille. On hieman sääli, että alueella ei ole vielä enemmän tietoa linnoituksesta ja myös se, että hyvän sijainnin miinuksena tulee myös pienoinen rauhattomuus. Näin upeasta rauniosta kelpaisi kyllä lukea enemmänkin!

Pyöräretkellä Kouvolasta Lappeenrantaan oli sopivasti puolivälissä ja poikkesin, kyllä kannatti. Juuri sopiva paikka jaloitella, tutustua muureihin, yrittää hahmottaa linnoituksen kokonaisuutta ja lukea hyviä opastauluja. Kaikki varsinaiset rakennukset ovat hävinneet, mutta kivimuurit ovat jäljellä. Ota omat eväät mukaan!

Taavetin linnoituksen rauniot ovat upea näky ja ihana paikka pysähtyä vaikka piknikille. On hieman sääli, että alueella ei ole vielä enemmän tietoa linnoituksesta ja myös se, että hyvän sijainnin miinuksena tulee myös pienoinen rauhattomuus. Näin upeasta rauniosta kelpaisi kyllä lukea enemmänkin!

Laaja linnoitusalue venäjän ajalta. Linnoituksesta jäljellä lähinnä muurit ja vallihaudat sekä yksi tiilinen tunneli.

Osa alueesta levittäytyy toiselle puolle tietä ja linnoitus onkin osittain jäänyt asutuksen alle.

Alueella risteilee frisbee golf rata joka on yksi tapa tutustua linnoituksen alueeseen urheilullisemmin. Hyvin pysöklöintitilaa palolaitoksen viereisellä parkkipaikalla (kannattaa lähteä tutkimaan linnoitusta kunnanviraston puolelta, eli toiselta puolelta missä...
