It was obviously one of my favourite lake while i was living in Tampere. I love rowing and this place has 2-3 boats with oars for hourly rental. It also has a dedicated swiming point and a small beach good enough for summer tanning. It gets completely frozen in winter and also good for cross country skiing in winter. A deifnate all rounder lake for every season.

There is a peaceful walking path around Kaukajärvi. Mainly gravel road in forest. Around 1h40m walk. Not in use on cross country ski season because part of it is in skiers use.

Good for biking around or walking. Also on your way you can get a coffee and snacks from one of the small cabins or sit down there for a break.
