Seitseminen National Park is located in the municipalities of Ikaalinen and Ylöjärvi in Finland. The national park was established in 1982 and later expanded in 1989. It now covers 45.5 square kilometres. The park is a typical mix of upland and lowland coniferous boreal forests of the Suomenselkä watershed region.

2023-03-04 late winter -2 C after a snowfall. This is a classic national park to visit in Pirkanmaa region. Best place to start: Kovero old traditional finnish farm (visit indoors in summer time).
There are two major circled trails to hike. Only the shorter route is walkable by foot in winter time. It takes 4-6 hours, depending on the routes and speed to cover majority of the area.
The longer 18 km route was not paved. Snowfalls had stacked over the time and pacing it through with only hiking boots meant knee deep, and at few times tigh hight, snow. If you take this trail, snow boots is a recommended. The lower bottom part was unwalkable due to deep snow at a time.

Perfect place to experience Finnish nature near the Tampere region.
The national park area has multiple walking trails starting from 1,8 km to 18 km in total tour length. You get to see typical old Finnish forest, swamplands, lakes and eskers. The maps can be found online and from this review.
Along side most of the trails there are public fire places with firewood for common use.
At the national park center there are a café and free exhibition about regional animals and nature. Worth to mention, near by is also "Koveron perinnetila". Hieno paikka täytyy sanoa.
Peltoihin ja tasaiseen maastoon tottuneena korkeuserot olivat ihan huippu kokemus! Kansallispuisto oli kaunis. Itse kiersin Harjupolun, joka on pituudeltaan noin 5 kilometriä. Matka tuntui paljon pidemmältä korkeuserojen takia, mutta ei ollut kuitenkaan liian uuvuttava!
Itseäni hieman harmitti se, että autotieltä kuului hieman ajoneuvojen ääniä matkan varrella.
Vessat olivat ylipäätään siistit eivätkä haisseet kauhealla kuten puuceet yleensä haisevat. Jollakin oli tainnut kuitenkin sihti olla vähän vinossa, mutta se ei puiston vika ole lol :D
Harmi on, että luontokeskus ei ollut enää auki. Pihapiiri oli kuitenkin mukava ja parkkipaikalla oli riittävästi tilaa.
Luontokeskuksen vieressä on toinen rakennus, jonka terassilta löytyy paikka paistaa muun muassa makkaraa ja voi syödä eväitä varjossa!
Hyttysiä sekä muita ötököitä ei myöskään ollut liikaa, joten nekään eivät haitanneet vaikka kuuma...
