Museum of Old Vaasa — Attraction in Vaasa sub-region

Se oli meidän 10-päiväisen Suomen länsirannikkoretkemme yksi helmistä. Oli valtavan mielenkiintoista tutustua Vanhaan Vaasaan, saada tietää sen historiasta ja miksi se on 8km etäisyydellä nykyisestä Vaasasta (mikä vaikutti turistille aika epämielenkiintoisena paikkana). Wasastjernan museo oli todella hieno museo-elämys, hienoa työtä museokuraattorit!! Ulkomuseossa oli riittävästi tekstiä/tietoa silloisista tärkeistä rakennuksista, ja se oli kaikki tosi mielenkiintoista! Tietoa eri paikkojen historiasta on valtavan mielenkiintoista!

It was one of the pearls of our 10-day Finnish west coast trip. It was tremendously interesting to explore Old Vaasa, to learn about its history and why it is 8km away from present-day Vaasa (which wasn't so interesting to the tourist). Wasastjerna Museum was a really great museum experience, great work by the museum curators!! The open-air museum (with the ruins) had enough text / information about the important buildings, and it was all very interesting! Had an English guide who explained a lot of interesting things. There is a display of the old Vaasa before it burned up which needs much better lighting. Shop and cafe provided and some stilts in the garden. Amazing to find out that big ships used to dock here where there is no sign of water. The land has...

Interesting place and friendly, helpful staff. There was no entrance fee, so we say Thank you to the City of Vaasa. Unfortunately it is closed for this...
