Torra di Turghju — Attraction in Ajaccio

Amazing place. It took us 3 hours (moving time) and then we made an hour break. It is quite a walk. So be prepared all in the sun. Back we walked the low path too it was very nice . We (2 person) took 2 ,1 litres-water (also for the dog). We could have taken more water. Bella torre di avvistamento antica ma molto ben conservata costruita sulla cima di un promontorio a 300m s.l.m. La torre, costituita da una camera circolare di 5m di diametro e un tetto a terrazza da dove si gode un'ottima vista a 360 gradi, costituisce un bel posto per un pic nic.

Il posto è raggiungibile attraverso un facile sentiero di 4.5 km che parte da un ampio parcheggio a lato della strada asfaltata che si snoda a ovest di Piana. Il sentiero, molto ben segnato, parte nel boschetto e scende lentamente per circa 3 km fino a poco sopra il livello del mare (-200m di dislivello) per poi risalire ripido per +240m nell'ultimo 1.5 km sul promontorio roccioso dove sorge la torte. In sè il sentiero è molto semplice anche con scarpe leggere ma se fatto sotto il sole può risultare piuttosto faticoso, specialmente il ritorco quasi tutto in salita. Non c'è acqua nel percorso.

Ho dato una stella in meno perchè in giro è pieno di carta igienica. Mi raccomando, se dovete andare al bagno, cercate di allontanarvi un pochino dal sentiero! Sennò è...

Fantastic views and walk. Set off from the car park by the restaurant. Organic maps was useful in sticking to the path near the end as it's not too well marked near the top. Would take more water next time, 1.5-2 litres per person. Highly worth doing this walk if you're...
