Château de Carrouges — Attraction in Alençon

This is a 'wow' Chateau ! We actually packed in the wonderful Parc next to it, but the Chateau does have a large carpark with no height barrier. Entrance into the Chateau is €7, but the grounds/gardens, inside square, and a hunting rooms are free. The rooms are all furnished beautifully, and each room has information in both French and English. The guides are extremely helpful, and the elegance of the Chateau transports you through history to a time of wealth and servitude. It was very much by chance we chose this particular Chateau to visit, and we're so pleased we did, well worth a couple of hours. Little gift shop. Toilets. No...

We visited while on holiday and it was a great decision! The château is impressive and certainly worth a trip! It was notably not too busy despite our visit being in June, but the car park certainly has room for more! There weren't any long walks, and entry was reasonably priced. Although our tour was exclusively in French, it was still very worthwhile as we got to see many of the rooms and experience the ambiance of the interior.
