Fantastic day out with kids! The cool stuff: Absolutely a full day of fun - We were there for about 8 hours, but there was still more we didn't see. Highlights for us (2 adults and a 5yr old) were the boat ride, the train ride around the park, watching both 4D movies (first one is the journey of a rain drop through a plant and is loads better than it sounds. There are no words, so language doesn't matter. This plays from 10.30am - 2pm, then switches over to Dino Safari, which is basically racing around in a jeep and trying not to get eaten by dinosaurs -its recommended for 6+, our child found it a little bit scary, but not enough to upset him); the magic show was fantastic! Never seen anything like it! There was also the tree top nut ride, be aware you do have to pedal your way around yourself and kids need to be over 1 meter tall to ride in it. We also really enjoyed the show at the start of the tropical house, the animal area and the merry go round. The explosive plants show was good, he was very entertaining and enthusiastic, but was all in french. The grounds were superb and have loads to interest kids of all ages and adults alike. Stuff we missed: - animal feeding is at 11am, needed to come earlier to make that. - ride up in the hot air balloon, by mid morning they stopped rides due to weather conditions. There is a traffic light at the entrance, that shows you if they are running. It was amber when we went in, didn't really understand what it was for, but would have gotten a ride if we did that first. It's a €5 pp supplement. Every staff member we met there was lovely and spoke English, one even tried to run one of the shows again for us in English after the last show had played. The staff all looked happy to be there and like they were having fun - so a testament to the organisation and the feel of the park. Overall, brilliant day! Other stuff to note: Parking is at the entrance and there are plenty of food options in the park ranging from about €8.50 -€12.50 for things like burgers and chips etc. but you are more than welcome to bring a picnic. There are plenty of undercover tables and chairs at the entrance near the car park for that purpose. You get stamped to come back in. All the shows were in french, but it didn't matter too much, they were entertaining. It's super important to book the tickets online at least the day before you want to go. It's cheaper. If you know what day you're going, there is also a different rate if you book more than 7 days in advance. Or you can book a 7 day in advance (I don't know the date yet) tickets. If you buy tickets in advance, you can go straight to the entrance and they'll scan your etickets in. Super important to download the app before you go. It translates to different languages, shows you the things happening through the day with show times etc, there is a button called "unmissable" which gives a list and information on which things you really might want to plan your trip around. It also has audio guides in different languages that you can use as you go around the map. It will help plan your day and send you reminders to shows or timed activities you've marked that you want to do. Be careful in the high ropes area (the giants trail) it's very bouncy so need to be very mobile/agile and wearing good grippy shoes. Kids absolutely love it, but my husband did get rope burn/graze on his elbow from some of the tight bits. Hope this review helps - it covers off the things we wished we knew before going in 😁

A very beautiful park made for both kids and adults, where you get to learn effortlessly about botanics, plants and the history of the region, while having a fun time. Positive - Pricing: Admission costs and overall prices in the park are very reasonable. - Waiting lines: Virtually none, a large majority of the activities in the park are directly accessible without waiting. The only lines we experienced were for the shows, the train, the walnuts and the boat ride, for which it can be expected. The feeling that we enjoyed our day in that park much more than in any others owes a lot to that, it removed a lot of the pressure you get from trying to do the most while fighting queues. - Aesthetic: This is really a breathtakingly beautiful park. Even at the end of April there were already many beautiful plants and flowers all over the parks. - Educative: The attractions and activities are really cleverly built, allowing you to learn a lot about botanics, plants, and the history of the region without even realising it. - Services: Lockers, strollers, and wheelchairs are available for rent at very reasonable prices. Neutral: - Balloon: Unfortunately subject to weather conditions, we weren't able to experience it. At least the current status is clearly stated on the website (in our case it was orange when leaving home, and became red when we arrived). - Shows: We only experienced two of them. "Le Jardin des Légendes" was really nice and informative, but the screen projection could be improved. "À l'épreuve des extrêmes" was really lacklustre, not much is done with the available setting. At least it was interestingly coupled with four different greenhouses allowing to experience the different climates. Negative: - Eating: If you bring your own lunch, you have to eat it just outside the gates where an area is specifically made for that. This is absolutely not customer-friendly. I can imagine a few reasons for that (keeping the park clean, encouraging people to buy food), but you really shouldn't have to walk back half the park just to eat your lunch. - English translation: The English version of the website as well as the English information provided in the park are just glaringly bad. It was clearly not reviewed by someone with a sufficient proficiency. Plus, I couldn't find on the website an easy way to switch to the French version, no matter what I tried. - Ruée vers l'ambre: This specific attraction was nothing but frustration. You're invited to search for amber in an artificial river filled with sand, using a sieve and a shovel. But after about an hour of all 4 of us searching, we found nothing. Other visitors visibly had the same bad experience. This attraction definitely requires a fix. Other similar activities we did in different places made it a balanced experience, with enough material placed that you're guaranteed to find something after a while.

We are now on to our second visit to Terra Botanica and we loved every minute of it. We arrived just after opening time and the car park was already filling up - we were guided to the next available parking space by one of the helpful staff, and then took the 2 minute walk into the park. We had not bought our tickets online in advance, but there were no queues, so didn't lose any time. The park itself is very well laid out, with signposts and maps showing you where to go. We particularily liked the butterfly house (although there were so many people inside that you couldn't always get up close to the butterflies). We took the boat ride through the gardens, were very envious of the neatly laid out veggie garden and loved the attention to detail in all areas of the gardens. Recommended for all ages - lots of games and activities for children, plus a 4D ride with dinosaurs for the older kids!

Visited here as part of our summer holiday. Was expecting a theme park mixed with a country garden based on the advertising we'd seen. Which is not really what this is, the rides are very gentle to say the least, and certainly not up to our 12 year old's expectations. It is a very nice place to visit, just don't expect thrills, it is much more gentle! Still a lovely, well thought out place, with some fascinating exhibitions and displays. Plenty of food options, loads of shade, and places to get water on a hot day. Still some things for kids, but really the highlight is the plant life on display. The giant's section was the highlight of the day, needless to say if you're a parent you're going to get sweaty keeping up.

It was a wonderful, magical and memorable experience. The ticket allows you to go on every ride and do all the activities in the park as much as you want, with the exception of the hot-air balloon which is paid separately. The staff are extremely friendly and animated. They always try to make sure everything is going well. The theme park itself is very colorful and beautiful. It has a big variety of plants and flowers, which can be very informative and interesting. Aside from that, there's paleontology, history (marine history), story tellings, etc... It's a really wonderful place to spend the day in and de-stress. I recommend visiting it vividly!

A gem of an attraction and meticulously planned, highly original idea which makes fun out of a subject some may consider mundane. Massive detraction is the lack of English translations in signs, information and shows, everything is in French. That may sound typically arrogant coming from an Englishman with limited French in a park in the middle of France. However this is an international attraction, not just for French people and our enjoyment was somewhat curtailed by the lack of English available. Wait times for rides are acceptable, around thirty minutes. Restaurant very expensive
