Gaube Lake — Attraction in Argelès-Gazost

Great hike out there. The lake was a bit disappointing. Some dogs had been doing their business around the lake and their owners decided just to leave it lying around - nice 😶 It is illegal to take your dog on this hike or even in this area and yet we saw 7-8 dogs around the place. We commented a girl (with a dog) that was passing a large sign saying you couldn’t bring your dog and she verbally abused us for pointing it out. If you can put up signs prohibiting all kinds of things (it’s also illegal to drive your bike in the area, fly with a drone, throw garbage etc), you can also regulate these things by actually having park rangers walking around, because people don’t follow the rules being set...

It’s a good two hour hike with breaks for lunch from the Parking to the lake. You can choose to hike up and come down using the telesiege/telecabin (we did this ) although most people prefer taking the lift up and then trekking down :) either way it’s a beautiful lake and even if you take a return trip with the ski lifts, there’s a nice track all around the lake which is a good walk .. I did the hike with my 6 year old (first hike) uphill and she managed luckily ;)we saw many kids hiking down .. the bar/cafe at the lake is good but only accepts CASH/cheque so carry cash!! Carry a big trash bag as you are not allowed to throw trash along the way and need to carry it back to...

Pujant amb cotxe direcció Pont Espagne, direcció Gavarnie. Pots deixar el cotxe a la carretera abans d'arribar, sense pagar, però mal aparcat i sense pagar. Si ho fas correctament, hi ha un pàrking on cal agafar ticket i pagues posteriorment abans de marxar dins una màquina, 8 euros per tot el dia. Hi ha allí una oficina de turisme, on si vols, t'expliquen amb un mapa què pots fer a la zona, molt amablement. Des de l'oficina nosaltres vam fer el següent, anant amb dos nens de 7 i 9 anys. Pujar caminant pel camí de pedres, fa pujada i les pedres estan mullades, anar ben calçat, però val molt la pena. A ritme ràpid i sense parar, amb els nens, vam estar 50 minuts, segons indiquen a ritme tranquil és 1hora i 15 minuts. La pujada es fa molt amena pq has d'anar pujant i vigilant on poses els peus. Pels nens no va costar, però han de ser nens acostumats a caminar. Un cop dalt, el paissatge és brutal. Arribes al llac, transmet una pau i serenor increïbles. Llàstima que hi ha tantíssima gent. Durant tot el camí ens vam trobar molta gent. Allí dalt vam dinar, portant-lo nosaltres, contemplant el llac. Bona opció per no haver d'estar pendent de marxar cap avall per dinar. Allí dalt un bar restaurant però estava tancat. Des d'allí crec que podies continuar la ruta més amunt anant a un altre indret. Vam decidir baixar, per un senderó. Des del llac 15 minuts caminant fins on està el telecadira, camí planer. I des d'aquest punt baixada fins al parking, el camí fa bastanta baixada, els nens el poden fer bé, però fa baixada. Dura uns 45 minuts i et deix al Pont d'Espagne i d'allí ja al parking. La visita al llac és impresicindible, dels llocs més bonics on hem estat. Així en total, 1 hora per pujar i una hora per baixar anant amb nens Als mesos d'estiu tens la possibilitat de pujar i baixar amb el telecadira. O tan sols pujar per evitar fer la pujada caminant. Pots comprar les entrades online o allí mateix. No ho vam poder fer per què...
