Domaine Dalméran — Attraction in Arles

We took a tour of the estate with excellent guidance from a young but knowledgeable Ciceron (whose name I sadly doesn't remember). He gave us a view of the vineyards and we spent a lot of time looking at the various tools of modern winemaking. Very informative even for wine lovers like us!

After that we got to taste the different wines, spirits and olive oil made by the domain. Our guide led us through the differences of their offerings and we had a very nice chat about grapes, vinification and how the domain tries to create a distinct personality. We even got to say hello to the wine maker Asseman.

The wines offered by Domaine Dalméran were all very good with a few standouts. The Chateau Red and the Bastide Rosé were both just a bit more amazing than the others. Not to mention the gin made with the flowers and herbs from their own gardens. That was stunning, almost a revelation.

Much more than a simple round tour and tasting, this was so friendly and with such good products we ended bying far to many bottles...

Yesterday afternoon, we were lucky and experienced a very privat wine tasting with Marion. We were the only customers and Marion took the time to share her knowledge about the Domain and its wine. Wonderful surprise with excellent guidence during the wine tasting, nice contact to the owner and remarkable impression of the location.
