Our hotel recommended us to visit this winery because they have free wine tasting and we can walk into their cave and vineyard. It was a few mins drive out of main town of Chablis but it was very worthwhile. We were greeted by Georgia who was busy doing rounds serving several groups of people. There was 2 lists of wine, the darker menu lists the biodynamic wine which is one step more natural than organic wine on the white menu. Georgia despite being super busy took the time to explain to us the location of the grapes vines location on the left bank versus right bank, the terroir, and the timing of sunlight all affects the taste of each wine. We had our tasting of petit chablis, chablis and premier cru. Grand cru are not available for tasting probably because they are much more scarce and valuable. Even though wine tasting is free, it is a good gesture to buy at least a bottle or 2 or more to help support the winery. The prices purchased at the winery I find is less expensive than anywhere else. Thank you Georgia for the wonderful visit! I also found out when I went thru customs at SFO that I could have packed as many bottles of wine in my checked luggage to the USA as long as it is for personal...
Read moreDuring our 2025 Wine Trip to Chablis and Burgundy, our visit to Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard truly stood out as a highlight. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed warmly into their beautiful Domaine. What made this visit particularly special was the opportunity to taste a range of wines crafted by the father and the son.
The tasting experience was exceptional—being able to compare the wines across different generations gave us a fascinating insight into their winemaking philosophy and evolution. The father’s wines showcased a classic, refined expression of Chablis, highlighting purity, minerality, and balance. Meanwhile, the son’s creations brought a fresh, innovative perspective, blending tradition with a modern touch that resonated well with...
Read moreWow, what an exceptional introduction to Chablis. I unfortunately did not catch the name of our guide, but he did a fantastic job of explaining the domaine's wine styles, the area's terroirs and then walking us through the wines of the region (petit chablis, Chablis, premier Cru, Grand Cru). We also got to do some side by side tastings of the father and son wines from the same plot of land to see the difference the winemaker imparts to the same grapes. This is exactly the kind tasting we love doing, and I wholeheartedly recommend everyone pay domaine Brocard a visit. You will find...
