Petite Chapelle Saint Michel — Attraction in Avranches

One of my places to go if I need to be tranquil. The walk to the Petit Chapel is through a wooded pathway which passes a memorial to the fallen. Then at the end of the pathway you are faced with the Petit Chapel. Walk around either left or right and follow the pathways which lead to a stairway to what is probably the most breath taking panorama in Normandie. Petit édifice religieux bâti sur un éperon rocheux (détruit lors de la révolution française et reconstruit en 1852). A l'arrière de la chapelle, vous trouverez une table d'orientation ainsi qu'un très beau panorama. Si le temps est clair, vous pourrez distinguer le Mont Saint-Michel. (se munir de jumelles). A quelques mètres de la chapelle, un mémorial rendant hommage aux combattants du "bataillon perdu" tombés en août 1944 lors de la contre-attaque de Mortain.
