Tunnel le Malpas — Attraction in Béziers

Absolutely free and completely accessible to the public. You can walk along the Canal du Midi (more tranquil and shadier on the east side) and through the world's first-ever navigable canal tunnel along a narrow path with a barrier alongside. (Just know that you'll get a noseful of smelly diesel fumes if a boat passes through just then.)

Very nice photo stop if you're in the area. I don't think it's worth driving a long way for. Child friendly, just make sure they won't jump/fall in the water because there is just an old metal railing, that's it. No bats, but there are birds flying...
