Vélorail du Canal du Midi — Attraction in Béziers

English guests to the Velorail. Very hot day in July. Sunscreen and hats definitely required as apart from the trees at the start of the route there is little or no shade from the heat of the middle of the day, and no shade on the Velorail car itself. Downhill on the start, uphill on the way back. Note - there are no real facilities at the Velorail. No toilets at all (and the nearest public toilets 2.5km away were also not open, neither were most nearby businesses). Having said that, a lovely run through the French countryside with good views of nearby vineyards and a fascinating field arrangement (look on google maps aerial view and you can see what is probably unique about this area). Recommended certainly, but go to the bathroom before you head there, and avoid the hottest...

We went on the Vélorail at Salleles d’Aude. Great fun with the family, everyone joined in and helped each other. Could be hot on a sunny day so hats and sunscreen required. This stretch is relatively flat with views of the canal and Salleles easy to visit...

Site ouvert depuis mai à Salleles d'Aude. Rien à voir avec des avis et des photos postés avant cette date !!! Très mauvaise expérience pour ce site ; pas de toilettes (un wc de chantier ferait l'affaire en attendant mieux) ; pour partir, chacun doit retourner l'engin pour le mettre sur les rails dans le bon sens ; aller-retour inintéressant, uniquement des vignes et des broussailles pas d'ombre ; croisements de route où 1 occupant doit descendre et soulever 2 élastiques par croisement ; à l'issue de l'aller, aucun responsable présent, tout le monde doit attendre le dernier (qui n'a pas le temps de récupérer) et chacun doit de nouveau retourner l'engin, soulever les élastiques, etc... un manque évident de sécurité : en cas de malaise ou incendie...
