Nigloland tries to accommodate disabled visitors and wheelchair users. Unfortunately if you are unable to get out of your wheelchair and physically manoeuvre yourself into any of the rides then you are going to be disappointed in your day out with the family in this park.
They give you a fast access pass so that you supposedly have some sort of benefit if you are disabled and visiting the park with your family.this is pretty much a sham and it is not worth paying the entry fee of €40 unless as mentioned you are able to physically get out of your wheelchair and enjoy some of the rides.unlike EuroDisney in Paris, where they understand it's about the whole family enjoying the day whether or not the wheelchair user can get in a particular ride or not [EuroDisney has a multitude of riots you can get into with your wheelchair!].
Nigloland has exactly 2! The Mississippi boat trip and a Ferris wheel, both will accommodate wheelchairs.they are both actually very enjoyable.
But now to the disaster that must be used to describe how the personnel at Nigloland treat a group including all a wheelchair user, i.e. my family.
Even though the rules in the fast past booklet specifically state that one need only present oneself at the wheelchair access so that the personnel understand who is part of the group: ["la personne handicapé doit se presenter au acces handicapé si-non les autres doivent prendre l'acces normale..."] The staff will literally physically remove your children from the ride if you as a wheelchair user cannot get out of your wheelchair and into the right next to them.
So what it comes down to, to the aggressively rude staff [not all mind you I'm happy to say ] is that any particular disabled guest, who has paid €40 for exactly 2 rides (i.e. the best paying customer of the whole park ;}] is going out of his way so that his children and his carer have quicker access to the ride.
EuroDisney understands that it's about the family enjoying the day, and that most disabled people simply can't physically manage to plan a seven or eight hour day in the park because it is physically too exhausting, especially when it's 30° outside. The staff at Nigloland insisted the wheelchair user wait outside for 40 min for a particular ride, waiting in the shade inside at the wheelchair access wasn't even allowed because the wheelchair user was not physically getting into the ride, so that their best paying disabled guest, yes €40 for two potential rides, had to wait in the blistering sun for 40 min. After having to wait in the sun the disabled person had to be taken for immediate medical assistance to cooldown [suffered hyperthermia]. One of the management staff at Nigloland whom we called whilst in the Park understood exactly what we were trying to explain, had no problem with it at all and actually called his staff at the ride: Schlitz Express to specifically instructs them to allow the children into the ride even though the disabled parent was not going to be able to get into it. If it hadn't been for him calling the staff member was going to send us on our way yet again. so fortunately there are a few (they actually wrote the rules at management level and nowhere does it stipulate that a disabled guest must actually physically get out of his wheelchair and into the ride) but each and every one of the staff we encountered had their own interpretation of "present oneself at...'" I begged to differ: if that was exactly what was meant then that was exactly what should have been written down, Napoleon had the right idea and didn't leave anything to ambiguity! So to recap, if you are disabled yet able to get out of your wheelchair you will probably be able to enjoy quite a few rides. If not, as in you are wheelchair-bound, do not bother paying the 40 Euro ticket because it will only lead to disappointment and absolutely no benefit or Nigloland staff trying to accommodate you in any way whatsoever. Take the trip to EuroDisney where they understand that it's not only about the disabled guest but also his immediate family...
Read moreOne of those places I almost don't want to review, because it's like a well-kept secret that I don't want to become spoilt by becoming too popular! Nice clean theme park. Range of rides for all ages, from grandparents and toddlers to teenaged thrillseekers. Nicely landscaped, plenty of trees for shade. Food is good for a theme park, and not too pricey. Kids prefer it to Disneyland, where all the rides are pretty tame. Sure, Disney has better 'theming' and landscaping but the kids can't appreciate that when they're packed in shoulder to shoulder with a million other customers and have to spend most of the day in queues. Nigloland is half the price (€30 adult, 2016) and we have a great day with short queues.
Downsides: seems like 99% of the visitors are French, (so no provision for English or other languages, if you consider that a problem in a theme park?) and it seems like france is a nation of smokers. At times the smoke smell can be really annoying and my eyes were streaming, even walking around in the open air.
Also, there is a live bear show here that many other reviewers take issue with. I've always just avoided it, so have no idea how happy/healthy/exploited etc...

Great service, help and understanding for children with disability. If you provide UK disability card and UK disable parking badge they will still accept them as proof of disability (bring DLA letter too in case). Disable tickets can only be bought on site. Carer go free, and the whole family (up to 4 people) get a fast track pass to any attraction the disabled person participate to. The longest we waited was 10 minutes! They also have an app, which you download, and they provide you an unique passcode at the entrance. This allow the family with a disable person to order food and/or drinks much quicker without queueing.
Overall, for us, with a 6 years old autistic child, it was an fabulous time!
I feel sorry for others, as it was a bank holidays in France, queues for rides were 30 min minimum for kids one, up to 70 min for adult rides. Choose the date you get there, it is a very popular...
