Château des Magnans — Attraction in Barcelonnette

Firstly, the reception was closed when we arrived at 6 pm. Not a nice thing when you have been on the bike for 10 h and the only thing you are dreaming about is cold beer and hot shower. ||||Secondly, when we finally got the keys we were disappointed again as we expected to stay in the castle (that´s why we booked it!). We got dark, depressing studios with no view in the concrete ugly buildings instead. No elevators - you have to carry all the luggage yourself on the stairs. Bed was very uncomfortable, squeezed between a wall and a wardrobe and not smelling fresh. The lock in our room was damaged so we couldn´t lock the room. The room and the bathroom were not cleaned properly. ||||Thirdly, over the phone we were assured we´d have dinner reservation in the hotel restaurant. Well, the "restaurant" is an open terrace covered with a worn-out plastic roof, with a few small plastic round tables. I can´t imagine how 10 people were supposed to sit there together. It was raining and the temperature was around 12 degrees. Not a chance to enjoy dinner. AND they said they don´t even have any reservation. We went to Barcelonnette (10 km away) for dinner but because we didn´t have a reservation we had to wait until 9:30 pm to get the table. ||The hotel has a restaurant room with normal tables that is used for breakfast but when we asked if we could eat there they said it´s a different owner and it´s closed in the evenings - extremely weird.||||The hotel has an indoor swimming pool that you can smell from 2 floors above, it didn´d feel inviting. ||||And lastly, there is something called The Shiva Club on the ground floor of the castle. We actually thought that would be our restaurant but it wasn´t. There were only men guests coming out of it, very drunk and very loud, and that definitely didn´t help us to have a good night sleep! ||||All in all - a big mistake. Have I know I would have booked something nice in Barcelonnette which is a very romantic town and I´m sure I would find something...

Seul point positif, le cadre.

Points negatifs:

Chambre et locaux très vieux, un peu de mise au goût du jour serait la bienvenue.

Niveau d'hygiène assez déplorable... Déjà sachez que vous devrez faire votre lit vous même... des draps, taies et drap housse pour la couette seront mis sur le lit... et on se débrouille... Je sais faire un lit, c'est pas le souci, mais la je paye un hôtel 3 étoiles 120€ la nuit.

Bref, au moment de mettre le draps sur le matelas nous constatons des poils, des miettes, de la crasses à même le matelas...

Je cherche à aller à la réception pour me plaindre mais mince, il est 19h, plus aucun personnel n'est présent sur place...

Nous retournons donc le matelas, mais des poils en tout genre son aussi présent de l'autre côté... Nous faisons notre lit.

Rdv maintenant dans l'espace aquatique, hammam fermé, sauna éteint. Il est 18h alors nous allons à la réception pour demander pourquoi ces choses sont fermés, on nous répond que le hammam n'est pas au norme donc fermé (rassurant) et que le technicien va être appelé pour allumer le sauna. Nous ne pourrons donc pas vraiment profiter du sauna car l'espace aquatique ferme à 20h, et il n'a pas eu le temps de chauffer assez pour qu'on appel ça un sauna.

Donc nous faisons comprendre à la réception que l'un des intérêt de notre réservation pour ce lieu était l'espace aquatique. Nous essayons maintenant de profiter de la piscine et du jacuzzi, jacuzzi médiocre, sans intérêt en fait... Revêtement du fond de la piscine qu'on sent buller sous nos pieds, juste dans la continuité de l'état de l'entretien des lieux... Nous levons les yeux, ça manque clairement de finition au plafond, au moins un coup de peinture ça serait bien... je rappel le tarif, 120€ la nuit, dans un "château". Nous retournons en chambre, l'espace aquatique n'est objectivement pas bien.

En chambre, petit tour dans la salle de bain, correct, douche pas top, pas de pression, pommeau très bas de gamme, pas de joints...

Dans le salon, canapé clic clac sans son futon, mais futon dans l'armoir, ça aurait été évidemment à moi de le mettre si le clic clac n'était pas cassé... une latte tenait le mécanisme pour ne pas qu'il tombe... Juste Incroyable...

On essaie de se faire un petit thé, la bouilloir c'est même pas la peine, de l'eau encore présente au fond avec du calcaire qui baigne dedans... j'ai alors l'impression d'être dans une caméra cachée, rien ne va...

Ah, ai-je précisé que nous devions vider nous meme la poubelle pour l'amener nous même dans des poubelles loin de l'hôtel ?? Mais c'est génial dite moi... le prix n'a pas baissé entre temps, 120 balles...

Isolation des chambres très moyenne, on entend bien les autres résidents.

Il n'est pas précisé, quand on réserve, qu'on ne va pas dormir dans le château. Ni aucune autre précision sur l'organisation globale en fait.

Départ du coup le lendemain à 10h, nous devons mettre nos drap (on doit donc défaire notre lit ) et serviettes par terre dans le salon, et bien sûr sortir nous même la poubelle.

A la réception nous parlons des problèmes multiples rencontrés, plusieurs clients autour de nous se plaignaient de la même choses.

Nous demandons un geste commercial, on nous propose le petit déjeuner, merci mais pas envie de passer encore du temps ici.

En résumé, nuit dans le château des magnans, extrêmement décevante. Cher et insalubre. Rien ne va. Le cadre oui, mais ils n'y sont pour rien...

J'ai vu plein d'avis négatifs similaire, avec de belles réponses bien diplomates de la part du service communication du château. Soyez surtout plus efficace dans la gestion et la tenue de vos lieux plutôt que dans des réponses...
