The La Grande Soyfrière hike to the top of this volcano was a highlight of my trip. There are varying comments about the difficulty level. There are loose and wet rocks and uneven ground. Some places are quite steep. With that being said I saw a person come down who was barefoot and wearing a tank top. On the way up it rained for 3-5 minutes every 20-30minutes. Once at the top there wasn't really a view. The wind was fierce and I was almost knocked over a few times. I exercise regularly and didn't think this hike was very hard but if you're not in good shape or you have bad knees, you can do it, just plan on going very slow and adding more time. Definitely pack water and snacks and know that the drive up to the trail is steep...

If you enjoy crazy hard hikes, beautiful mountains, volcanoes, hot springs, or just want to play Indiana Jones, then hike La Soufriere! It's often shrouded in misty clouds and windy at the top, so be prepared to be cold and wet if it's not a clear day. If it is, you'll have phenomenal views of the archipelago. There's all kinds of wonders along the way and you'll run in to plenty of friendly people to speak with, so practice your...

The forest is fenomenal with the alleys good marked with plenty of detailed description of the area. It is a great place to explore for the people who enjoy walking and experience in the jungle forest.
