Hotot | Chocolaterie du Drakkar — Attraction in Bayeux

While the website seemed pretty promising, the overall tour was very disappointing. In the beginning, we got dropped in some room with a video playing that looked a couple hundred years old. It was very boring and played for more then half an hour, the majority if the tour. The rest consisted of long texts about the history of chocolate and badly dressed plastic dolls. The service was awesome and everyone was very sweet though, the price of the chocolate is very reasonable and we even got a few free chocolates! It's fun for a class trip, not a vacation. They're very sanitary and touch everything with gloves, and everyone is very passionate about their job. There is a fun interactive game about smelling, some more interactives around the tour would make it a lot more interesting. I liked going, but i wouldn't...

We took a school group here (13 and 14 year olds) and the guide kindly recounted the history of chocolate in simple French with actions and some English translations so that they could improve their language skills. Very professional and interesting. You get a chance to buy presents from the shop, which sells their own premium chocolate, which ranges from chocolate lollipops for a couple of euros to very expensive boxes....

Alors là, c'est LA chocolaterie absolument à voir! Chaque année, à la fin de nos vacances c'est notre point de passage obligatoire 😁. Immense choix de chocolats, pralines, ... ce qui est super sympa à faire: le petit musée du chocolat qui se termine dans l'atelier avec une dégustation 😋. Tout y est bien expliqué pour petits et grands, de la fève au produit final: le chocolaaatttt. De plus, pour les enfants, ils peuvent y faire leur petit chocolat dans un moule qu'ils emportent à la maison 😉. Ne quittez pas sans avoir pris leur spécialité: le drakkar (une tuerie!). Je recommande vivement: personnel très sympa, endroit superbe, très très bien tenu et propre. Facilité d'accès et parking. Bien vite pouvoir retourner dans cette superbe région Bayeux, Arromanches-les-bains, Port-en-Bessin, ... (foutu Covid'19 😭😡). Go...
