Omaha Beach Golf — Attraction in Bayeux

We played the Manor course and although it may not have the same views of the sea, it is an absolute gem of a golf course. Many beautiful holes and nice scenery. Multiple elevated tees with spectacular views of the surrounding area and the possibility of driving the greens on par 4s. Beautiful lakes on many holes provides challenges and tactical play.

Friendly reception in the pro shop by a very helpful woman and they also answer e-mails swiftly. Restaurant was doing a bbq when we arrived but we sadly didn't have time to visit.

Because of the heat wave the fairways were dried up and cracked in places, but I cannot fault them for that. It is an exceptional summer in Europe this year and it is impossible to keep all the parts of a golf course fresh. The greens were in good shape and some approaches are absolutely picturesque. Crazy finish on whole 18. You really deserve a beer after the climb up to that green.

So why not a perfect score?

Lack of sand in bunkers. Which is ironic due to the close proximity to the Normandy beaches.

No towels in the shower rooms, which were in need of some attendance.

Tee boxes could be more attractive and distance markers better.

But all in all one of the best courses I've played and would recommend everyone to try it. Not too hard and with plenty of tees to choose from. Hole 9 is...

Very enjoyable course and want to play again.

Course of two halves - front 9 have some great views whilst the back is more of a parkland course. Course is hilly but can be walked.

Condition is reasonable and probably not as good as normal as they are cutting back on watering tee boxes due to water shortage. Some of the fairways are also struggling with a lack of rain.

All the greens are in fair condition, but I struggled as they didn't seem to run true and around 8 or 9 stimp.

Unser geplanter Golfbesuch war leider nicht von Erfolg gekrönt. Am gewünschten Tag war der Platz aufgrund eines Turniers komplett ausgebucht, und am Folgetag mussten wir das Spiel auf dem "Seeweg"-Kurs wegen des stürmischen und regnerischen Wetters absagen. Den "Manor"-Kurs haben wir uns ehrlicherweise nicht zugetraut – bereits das erste Loch wirkte auf uns wie eine schiere Herausforderung. Das Clubhaus war sehr stilvoll und das Personal freundlich. Enttäuscht hat uns jedoch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis der Driving-Range-Bälle: 5 Euro für nur 35 Bälle sind sehr teuer. Zusätzlich erhielten wir beim Einwurf der Jetons pro Korb nur 20 Bälle, was sehr ärgerlich war. Nachdem wir das dem Personal mitgeteilt hatten, bekamen wir jedoch anstandslos einen Ersatzjeton. Wir haben uns dann für den Kurzplatz entschieden, mussten aber feststellen, dass dieser in einem schlechten Zustand war. Die Greens waren kaum bespielbar und der gesamte Platz wirkte sehr ungepflegt.
