Chateau Feely — Attraction in Bergerac

We had such a wonderful time staying in the super comfortable wine cottage at Chateau Feely and spending 3 amazing days touring the area with Caro! The cottage is set up perfectly for a romantic and relaxing stay. It has all you might need, even a dishwasher and laundry machine. We found it easy to get into town for groceries and meals. There are multiple small/medium villages nearby with plenty of choices. The sweeping views of the vineyard from the cottage are gorgeous and magical. Caro’s sense of hospitality combined with her deep knowledge of wine made this trip an absolutely memorable and one of a kind adventure. Starting the first day at her winery learning all about the vineyard, organic farming, and following that with a perfectly lovely wine paired lunch was such a nice way to kick off my three day tour. The next two days were full of incredible wine, food, fun, and a very special visit to Saint Emilion and Monbazillac. We also visited some truly wonderful spots for lunch which I never would have found myself. I highly recommend doing at least a three day tour with Caro as she has so many things to share. We tasted many great wines, and in the end many of Caro’s wines were my favorite. We ended up shipping home a handful of bottles to the states which was so handy. It was really nice to have this service and not have to figure out how to carry the wines home myself. I simply cannot wait to come and stay again and continue learning from Caro. My boyfriend and I paid a visit to Chateau Feely after seeing so many recommendations while looking for a wine tour that could cater for vegans.

To say Caro exceeded our expectations would be understatement of the century.

Firstly, the vineyard is gorgeous. My words won’t do it justice. Just look at the pictures. Obviously it’s better in real life.

Secondly Caro really takes her time to show you around and explain what Chateau Feely is all about.

Thirdly, you will learn so much learning about organic and bio-diversity farming. I didn’t go in especially wanting to learn about this but my goodness I did by the time I left. Caro speaks with such knowledge and passion it is truly inspiring and infectious.

Fourthly the wine is BLOODY DELICIOUS and Caro will totally talk you through how to taste it without anything seeming pretentious.

Fifthly the food is also BLOODY DELICIOUS. Caro catered a totally vegan menu for us that was paired with the wines. Everything was just amazing. I can’t state enough how delicious everything was!!!

Sixthly they have a dog called Dora who is adorable and a delight.

We did the full day wine tour with lunch in May 2024 and we visited a variety of organic vineyards across Saint- Emilion.

She took us to Jean Faure and Chateau Bernateau, and proved to be exceptionally knowledgable about the region, the wine making process and any other questions we posed.

For lunch we went to Chateau de Candale and the food was incredible and it was a great way to break up our tastings. We loved learning about what brought Caro and her husband Sean to the area.

Caro thought of everything, helping us pick accommodation in Saint-Emilion, answering our questions and even giving us some wine from Chateau Feely and a book when the tour ended.

We got a voucher for this experience as an engagement present, and it was one of the best presents we have ever received. An unforgettable day and it's inspired a whole new level of curiosity about wine. We would definitely recommend this as a gift for someone you love or for yourself!
