There are a lot of bathing lakes in Southern France, and this is one of the very nicest.
It is not over-commercialised, having just one small bar-restaurant in high season. There are several car parks, a couple near the lake and others at other access points to the surrounding park area.
As well as swimming or paddling - there is a shallow "petit bain" area marked out within the larger swimming area - you can walk, jog or cycle around the lake perimeter, or within the larger park area.
There are benches and picnic tables, and a children's play area that includes a zip wire. Great fun!
The little bar-restaurant serves the food efficiently and is not over-priced for a business which probably has just three months to earn a living.
