We visited Château de Beauregard in the beautiful Loire Valley this June, and we had an amazing time. Unlike some other fancy castles, this one felt cozy and welcoming, like a real home.
The best part was the gallery of portraits. It was a unique chance to learn about French history, even if you don't know much about it. The portraits showed the Beauregard family and other important people from around the world. It was fascinating!
But that's not all. They also had a super cute gallery of dogs. Both kids and adults loved it. It added a fun and playful touch to the visit.
The chateau itself is a real gem in the Loire Valley. It's easy to get there from anywhere in the region. So, it's a great place to visit if you want to see the beauty of the area and learn about its history.
Overall, we had a wonderful time at Château de Beauregard. The portraits and the dogs made it a special and memorable visit. We highly recommend it to anyone who loves history and wants to explore the charm of the...
Read moreThe castle itself is fascinating. Especially the Galerie des Portraits. The castle provides a good variety of languages in its explanation of each room. I only wish that it can do the same for the historical explanation of each portrait. Right now there it is only available in French. And as a tourist, it would be nice if the included tour is available in English as well. The by-color setting connected with the historical meaning of the Jardin des Portraits is also inspiring. I really like the idea. But I came on 13th May, the flowers were not blooming much. For those who want to see a more colorful garden, you may need to come at another time. Also beware that there is no restaurant around the castle. If you are not driving there yourself, prepare some food in advance. I was the only one going to this castle from the shuttle bus that day. This castle definitely deserves more...
Read moreA complete waste of €18 for my wife and I to explore the gardens and parkland. The formal garden of ‘portraits’ is a brilliant idea, sadly in a terrible state with bindweed everywhere. It looks as though no gardener has touched it this year. The walk through the woodland to the house was poorly signposted so we ended up in a private area. The café was closed and looked as though it had been so for some time. None of the staff was able to replenish our water bottles, badly needed for two hot cyclists who had cycled over from Cheverny on a hot day. They couldn’t even make the effort to direct us to a cold water tap. Thankfully, a householder in Celettes willingly refilled them and offered us an extra bottle of cold water. I am glad we didn’t bother to pay the extra for access to the chateau which, I suspect, would have been...
