A gem of nature. For those who want a round trip (and the GR 54 is too long), we have made a perfect trip:

Day 1: La chapelle en Valgaudemar = Refuge clot de Xavier Blanc Day 2: Refuge clot de Xavier Blanc = Gioberney = Lac de Lauzon = Refuge du pigeonnier Day 3: Refuge du pigeonnier = down to Gioberney but take a turn to Trières = Refuge du Chabournéou Day 4: Refuge du Chabournéou to Refuge de Vallonpierre (+ leave luggage there to do a short trip to the top of the mountain) = short walk back to Refuge clot de Xavier Blanc Day 5: Refuge clot de Xavier Blanc = Rif du sap = La Navette (beautiful trip on a ridge) = La chapelle en Valgaudemar

If wanted: an extra trip to the Lacs des Pétarel can be made from...

A place of outstanding natural beauty. Majestic in summer or winter. A great deal of high altitude hikes to be experienced here. Peaks like La Meige and Les Agneaux are awesome sights, particularly this year thanks to the abundance of compacted snow (nevées) remaining from last winter. The area is well preserved thanks to regulations enforced by the park authority. Respect this fragile environment and its inherent dangers and you're guaranteed an...

Nobody ever talks about how beautiful the French Alps are, even though the scenery is unmatched! We stopped at every corner, took a million pictures and were just mind-blown by the colors, the mountains and the river 🤯 We’ll definitely be back to explore more of the French Alps and Écrins National Park! We highly recommend taking D480 into the mountains and just take in the views 😍 #parcnationaldesecrins #alpsmountains #frenchalps #autumnvibes #autumnineurope #autumnscenery
