It’s not too late to book a trip for Provence for Lavender season 💜! My secret travel tips to visit the lavender fields in Provence: 📍 Where: Valensole plateau in Provence, France 📆 When: end of June / beginning of July. 🛏 Where to stay: Valensole is the closest town to these lavender fields but it’s rather small. But you can look around this area! 🗓️ For how long: stay a minimum of 4 days to explore the lavender fields and visit a few villages around. 🌻 What to do in the area: -See the fields (lavender, sage, sunflowers...), -Visit the charming villages around (Roussillon, Gordes, Valensole, Moustier Ste Marie, Lacoste, Fontaine de Vaucluse, …) -Enjoy outdoors activities at the Gorges du Verdon 💦 and the Lac de Sainte Croix 🚣♀️! Who is going to Provence this year 💜? #provence #provencefrance #provencealpescotedazur #provencestyle #provencetourisme #valensole #valensoleprovence #lavender #lavenderfields #lavenderfield #lavenderseason #francetourisme #visitfrance #explorefrance #sheisnotlost #girlaroundworld #womenwhoexplore #femaletravelbloggers #shewhowanders #girlsjustwannatravel Copyright ©️ no reposts, contact for licensing fees.

An absolutely gorgeous place to do canoeing, boating, paddle boarding, etc. The water changes colors as the day advances. You can venture into the Gorges du Verdon from the lake, do some rappeling, and there are more hikes that you can count. The lake even has a nice, sandy beach area on one side. In the summer it gets very, very crowded here. There are plenty of campsites around so I would encourage people to stay a while. Boat rentals run from Spring to early Fall and are electric or pedal boats. A great place to hang out with family and friends for some summer time fun! Nothing like renting a boat and just going to the middle of the lake and taking in the view. Make sure you go up to the Left Side of the Gorges du Verdon. The view of the lake is unbelievable!!

It is a huge lake in the Alps of Haute Provence region, known for its boat sailing, kayaking, pets and kids friendly beaches with fabulous view over the lake from the village and over the village from the lake. I took a trail around and across the village and was delighted with the scenery around, but I didn’t take any boat nor kayak trip, that are highly recommended though because if the peaceful waters and stunning view. There is an easy access to the lake itself, and to the main village streets. One can find a camping car lot and camping itself right near the entrance to the village, fully equipped with playgrounds and barbecue places. The place is full with people though everywhere: in the water and camping.

Provence can be very dangerous to our eyesight! From lavender violet through yellow sunflower fields or green meadows and forests, there are also lakes like Lac de Sainte-Croix (Lake of the Holy Cross) where the blue takes on such shades that you wonder if it is possible. It is an artificial dam lake from which the deepest canyon in Europe begins - the Verdon gorge, but that's another story. A detour around the lake plus camping nearby and nothing else is needed for the day!
