The Castle Escarelle — Attraction in Brignoles

If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay in Provence, we highly recommend Chateau Escarelle's villas on the property. We rented Engardin, Chardonnay, Cinsault, and Syrah for 8 days to host 35 people for our wedding. We had activities planned throughout the week from hiking and yoga to butterfly garden tour to a winery tour. Our group loved it! We held the wedding welcome reception, wedding ceremony, wedding lunch, wedding dinner, and post-brunch at Engardin at different places around the villa. It was so magical it feels like a dream. The property still has a few glitches they need to work out for event planning and long stays, but Thomas was hospitable and once we were on site everything was perfect. The wine is also delicious. We love their 10 euro rose and drank through cases after cases of it while we were there. Their white wines are also very very good. Their wine is delicious and hard to find in the States! Overall, highly recommend staying here. It will clear your mind as you are surrounded by nature and wildlife and vineyards that go on and on. We enjoyed hiking right off of the property every morning. For an escape into town, you're 45 minutes aways from the coast, 40 minutes away from old Hyeres, which is our favorite Provencal town, and 10 mins away from a Michelin Star restaurant in La Celle. Je me suis inscrit en ligne fin août à une invitation de l'Escarelle adressée à ses clients , dont je faisais partie il y a 2 ou 3 ans, sans savoir qu'il ne s'agissait pas de dégustation, mais de planches de charcuterie et de fromage payants, et que le moindre verre de vin était également payant. Pourtant, rien dans la proposition reçue ni dans le formulaire d'inscription n'indiquait le caractère payant de la soirée avant d'être assis. Je n'ai pas vraiment apprécié d'autant plus que lorsque j'ai voulu aller à la boutique pendant la soirée pour tester quelques vins du domaine, j'ai trouvé... porte close. Je comprends parfaitement le soucis de rentabilité qui anime visiblement ce domaine, mais la démarche qui consiste à "inviter" des clients à une soirée festive où tout est payant (sauf le parking et les toilettes), sans le dire et sans afficher les prix, c'est quand même un peu surprenant, surtout si l'on compare aux manifestations et dégustations totalement gratuites organisées par les domaines voisins au même moment. Je ne suis pas opposé à l'idée d'une soirée "apéro" payante, mais le schéma marketing mis en place ici sent vraiment un peu trop l'attrape-nigaud. D'autant plus que les vins sont proposés à des prix qui me semblent disproportionnés par rapport à ce qu'il y a dans le verre... et à ce qu'on trouve à proximité immédiate. Mais ce n'est...
