As a huge Collette fan who has never read any of her work, and if I'm honest had no idea who she was before I came here, coming to this garden was a great way to get to know my mysterious literary hero. She had a Dog, (I'm also a huge fan of the dog, and have also never read it's work, or smelled it's pee) she loved goats... She may have spent some time in Morocco? She um... Did Lazer style obstacle courses and I think was crazy into Jenga. Perhaps her books will reveal more. Perhaps if I learn french I will finally understand what it is to mix the masculine with a soft feminine touch of glamour. Perhaps I can be worthy of a dog's love. Time is an illusion in the garden. The 2019 movie traces her story and this Garden and Maze will be a great discovery if you are into literature or just willing to learn more about Colette and life in her time. Read moreIt's a wonderful trip out. We went out of high season, early October so had missed the really full bloom in the flower gardens but the roses were still magnificent. The 5 themed gardens were a joy. Lots of games for kids of all ages, dominoes, croquet, hool a hoop, skipping, giant twister etc etc. Lots of fun was had in the labyrinth, solving clues to escape. The cafe had a good selection of drinks etc....
