It's a short walk from the chateau parking area down into the town and across the river to the old abbey, what's left of it. There are information boards strategically placed which give good information on the history of various buildings etc. There is not much in the way of footpaths along the road, and it's quite busy. You have to keep your wits about you at times. For wheelchair users, it's a down ward slope from the parking, but then obviously, it's uphill going back! We came upon a cafe where we sat and had views of a castle and ancient church. After our coffee we walked up the steps of the castle to have a look round. The views from the top were magnificent, sheer drops the other side to stunning views of the river below and the beautiful terrain around.
