Château de Montmorin — Attraction in Clermont-Ferrand

Lovely castle and so interesting to learn about the history, renovations, and archaeology. Our guide was an archaeology student and was very passionate about the subject and castle. The castle was mostly in ruin, but it was so fascinating to learn about the project of renovations and see what the owner has done so far.

Nice place to check out if your in the neighborhood. Not the most beautiful or interesting ruïne we have ever seen..the Three star rating is because the options for a visit are very limited. You need to be there at a specific time (not communicated clearly) and can only enter with a guide. Its a fairly small site, so this was curious to us. There are probably more interesting sites to visit on your holiday.

Superbe visite guidée par Sacha , nous avons appris beaucoup sur les différentes périodes d'occupation, de sa fondation à sa restauration en cours. Le travail effectué est impressionnant et nous avons eu beaucoup de détail sur le travail des archéologues. De passage dans la région c'est pour nous Le château à visiter (et il n'y a pas photo !). On y retrouve aussi dans des salles restaurées de nombreux objets de différentes époques ce qui accroît l'intérêt de cette visite. Visites...
