Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin - Maison du Parc Natural Regional Park — Attraction in Coutances

The National Park is huge and really very interesting; it extends from the west of the Cotentin all the way over to the Bessin. During the winter months, roughly from the end of October to the end, I think, of March, the floodgates are raised leading to the flooding of the valley bottoms. This turns the valley bottoms into a splendid wetland in which many migrating birds over-winter beloved by wildfowlers and twitchers alike, there is not much love lost between the two. Excellent region of France. Welcoming and beautiful. Great food, wine, cider. Great villages, towns and monuments everywhere. Not far from cherbourg and beaches so clean with everyone taking lunch together. Children welcome ...even though ours...

Un bon point de départ pour organiser ses visites du marais et environs. Embarcadère à côté. Boutique de produits locaux. Sanitaires, aire de pique-nique pour individuels et groupes etc .. Excellent accueil précis et documenté sur toutes les possibilités offertes sur place et alentours. Bémol : où stationnent les camping-cars qui veulent s'informer puisque le stationnement leur est interdit ? (nous étions en voiture personnellement)Limiter et réglementer pour empêcher les stationnements abusifs est devenu effectivement indispensable, mais interdire l'accès aux points d'intérêt - et ici c'est un point d'informations - est tout aussi abusif ! Merci de préciser de manière aussi claire que les interdictions où se trouvent les stationnements...
