Wonderful secluded landscapes. You can opt for day hikes from one of the entrance points of the natural reserve, or go all in and sleep in the park. With option 1, be ready for a challenging 1hour climb up the mountain to get inside the park, and the same going down. Option 2 offers more freedom but you'll have to take your sleeping gear (tent, etc) with you, plus the food for multiple days. Even in summer it can get cold at night (close to freezing). There are water points but, like the paths, it sometimes take a little guessing to figure them out. You will enjoy it more if you come prepared but it's totally worth it. Vercors Regional Natural Park is a treasure island in the Alps. Delineated on all all sides by sheer cliffs, it hosts a rich fauna, including ibexes, chamois, mouflons (bighorns), marmots, bearded vultures, and many more. Many arches and natural bridges adorn the park, some being quite spectacular. The park is free, the most scenic areas all require hiking. Went for a nicely organized treasure hunt recommended by a info tourist ranger. The walk was ok, much less pretty than the other hikes we did. We were also attacked by horse flies (I think) and a few notes which ruined the experienced but not sure if that's normal. The hidden punch card posts were well hidden in long grass and we were not dressed to protect from ticks which we were warned about on the signs entering the walk.
