Jardin Shamrock — Attraction in Dieppe

Unbelievably rude

To respond to the owners comment I'm happy to elaborate and share our experience with the member of staff at the entrance today.

We arrived having enjoyed a 2 hour walk through the beautiful surroundings with an elderly relative. We hadn't realised that only cash was accepted so asked where the nearest cash point was. As it was some distance away we asked if our elderly relative could sit at the bench located at the entrance whilst we walked to withdraw cash. We were told this is not possible until we had paid. At first we thought this was a misunderstanding, but after asking again politely the lady at reception shrugged, pointed at her leg in a cast and said that she can go and 'sit in the nature' whilst pointing at the grass. We appreciate that valuable bench space at the entrance might be reserved for paying customers only, however telling a woman in her 70s to sit on the ground for half an hour when there is plenty of seating available is pretty shocking!

I'm sure there have been many happy visits to what I can only imagine is a rather nice garden in beautiful surroundings, but luckily we passed on the chance following our experience and ended up visiting the Manoir d'Ango next door which was wonderful and I'd definitely...

Voici mon histoire :

L'année dernière, nous étions au bois des moutiers, avec son immense collection de rhododendrons. On voulait aller dans un jardin juste à côté, avec des hortensias, mais c'était fermé. Je me suis promis de revenir !

J'attendais ça depuis un an, chaque week-end je regardais la météo et nous voilà enfin on est partis en Normandie. La 1ère moitié de la journée on a passé à Etretat (3h de Paris), puis on est parti exprès au jardin des hortensias (encore 1h20 de route). Il était écrit sur le site que le parc était ouvert jusqu'à 18h, nous sommes arrivés à 16h30.

À l'entrée du parking, il y avait marqué qu'en raison de problèmes d'électricité, le paiement par CB n'était pas disponible... Rien n'était écrit sur le site! On avait un peu de monnaie mais il manquait 2€.

À la caisse, on a expliqué que nous avions fait un long chemin et que nous voulions arriver ici depuis longtemps, et que leur problème de CB à été annoncé nulle part sur le site.

La dame, pas très sympathique, nous a fait comprendre qu'elle n'allait pas s'excuser pour cette gêne occasionnée, et nous a envoyé dans un village voisin pour retirer de l'argent (en mode : allez à gauche, puis à droite, puis à gauche, sur la place il y aura un immeuble avec un distributeur, si vous avez rien retenu c'est votre problème). Et elle a précisé: "Si j'étais vous, je me dépêcherais, la dernière visite est à 17h15" .. Ah oui, et les prix au final étaient légèrement différents, maintenant il nous manquait encore 1 ou 2€ ...

Nous sommes allés là où elle nous a envoyés, avons fini par trouver le distributeur, mais il y avait une feuille A4 dessus «Le distributeur ne distribue pas»!!! (j'ai la photo) Pas d'autre distributeur dans le village !

On appelle le jardin, même pas de bips, une voix féminine disait tout de suite que leur messagerie était pleine !

On a décidé de revenir là bas pour leur parler.

On arrive. Il est 17h08. La femme ferme le portail. Fin.

Apparemment, certains n'ont pas été touchés par la crise. Laisser entrer les clients venus juste pour eux dans ce coin ? Ah non, trop fatigués, il est temps de se reposer là !

J'ai attendu un an pour y aller, mais je n'y retournerai surtout pas . Et des photos de belles hortensias, j'en ai eu plein même en dehors de...
