An excellent visit only slightly spoiled by a lack of directions en route. Once there, the parking and organisation were very good. Buy a ticket and then wait for a group to assemble at a given time to join your guide. Make sure to have sweater or jacket of some type as it gets quite cold the moment you start the descent. Commentary was in French and in English and questions were answered in both languages. Paths were all very safe and smooth and shouldn't be a problem to anyone. Read moreA beautiful experience, it is not for all and the French natives didnt have the patience to let the guide finish the English portion of the guided tour. The caverns are a steady 10 degrees celsius.
Visiting in autumn or during the early winter is probably best, since the bats were out in the forest when we visited, making it slightly less exciting but certainly not less informative.
If you want to learn anything about geology then this could certainly be a starting point!
