Safety precautions near to none. They barely explain the rules and even when I told them it was my first time driving anything they were still rushing me, prioritising the people on the track waiting, rather than me and my friends knowing the rules and feeling safe. I would not be surprised if there was to be a serious accident on this track. All the attendants on the track look very young and had a rude attitude towards us as well. I thought due to the language barrier they would ensure there was a proper safety briefing but also no, just a thirty second explanation of the rules which basically flew over my head with the language barrier. You’d think that for an activity that has that high of a risk, they’d take more time and precaution to ensure the customer is aware of the rules; especially if they are foreign and a complete beginner! I’m not the only Google reviewer on here who has agreed that the safety briefings are not adequate - they only cater to the pro’s and have no consideration for beginner adults, and then are rude to you when they are shocked you are struggling! New staff and system needed desperately before an accident happens. I was rushed to join the group of karters that were already there waiting which panicked me, as I’d literally only just arrived and was rushed to put all my belongings away and tie my hair back, whilst having the rules explained and feeling that the group of karters were waiting on me and growing annoyed. Instead of advising me to join the next group and explain the rules properly, I was rushed to join them. By the time I got on the track I was just completely overwhelmed with the lack of safety precaution, and felt extremely unsafe and scared, which resulted in a very negative experience for myself and the other drivers who had to put up with me...
Read moreGrimaud is a fun 800m track which is reasonably technical, with one long stretch. It was great while on holiday to have somewhere to go karting.
There are some downsides however.
Safety, coming from a UK karting perspective, was not taken seriously. There's no safety briefings, no suits, no gloves. Many people in my two sessions were driving recklessly, one causing a multi kart collision, another crashing into me side on at speed, knocking me 5-10m off the track. No-one got black flagged, and for many it was dodgems rather...
