Pagode Chùa Khánh Anh Evry — Attraction in Évry

Pagôde Khanh Anh temple: the largest Vietnamese Buddhist temple in Europe. So glad to visit and spend my time here. Free entry.

Mostly open on Sunday. Any other days recommended to book in advance. Lovely people, helpful. We came on a Saturday in Februar. It was close, but the helping Lady, living near by. She ask a monk and open the door for us. We where so lucky that day. At 3pm was a Zeremonie and we could attend and after look around and buy the vegan homemade food ( pickles, manilc cake and many more) they are selling there. So deliciouse and so cheap. Can bring home and put in the fridge. My first time and for sure will come back with my 86 year old mom. So easy to reach. From Gare de Lyon take the Metro D direct there 70 minuts and walk 15 minuts. No bus there. So easy to reach. By car so many parking...

The largest Temple in the world outside of Asia now that says a lot. I felt at home with the Buddhist everyone was kind and most spoke English 🙂 a plus for me. I had a really great time there if ever in that part of the world I'm definitely going back. If you happen to visit that part of the world add this temple to list of places to visit I guarantee you won't regret it place...

La plus grande pagode d'Europe, bénie par le Dalaï Lama en personne, située dans une ville qui abrite aussi la dernière cathédrale construite au 20ème siècle !

Elle accueille un nombre important de religieux, occupant l'immeuble qu'on aperçoit en arrivant au parking. Ainsi qu'un nombre important de cendres d'adeptes décédés, conservés dans un stupa à 7 étages. Il est possible de découvrir cette pagode lors des journées européennes du patrimoine, ou (peut-être) pendant les offices du dimanche.

L'entrée réservée aux adeptes est du côté de la N7, ce qui fait croire que le temple est accessible directement depuis la route : en réalité, il faut faire un détour dans le quartier avoisinant, avant d'accéder au parking situé en face de l'immeuble du personnel et des religieux, quand on s'y rend en voiture ! Et la dite entrée, par la porte grillagée visible depuis la N7, n'est pas vraiment isolée de la route, ce qui ne protège pas des accidents 😰 ! Espérons qu'il sera ajouté quelque chose pour faciliter et sécuriser l'attente des adeptes le dimanche, ou de simples...
