The place is gorgeous but it is just ruins of the old chateau. They give you a device that explains a lot of things about the site, but everything was very technical. I wished that they could explain more about the people that lived there (slaves, settlers, etc.) and why the chateau existed there. We hiked the Caravelle trail, which is just next to the chateau. I would recommend doing this instead of visiting the chateau since you will get the feeling for the place without having to pay the entrance fees. *You should plan to arrive early because there is not much shade and bring at least 1 1/2 liter of...

We visited here yesterday. It was a great learning experience for the whole family. We used the interactive map at each number on the map for a description of the building or landmark in question. It was very informative and a reminder of the cruel ways...

The actual Chateau’s remains are only accessible until 16:00. The hikes are worth doing. The access is a bit rough for the car on the last part, but there is a parking, and two separate hikes in the dry...
