I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to tell you about the house of Biac. It’s truly difficult to find words to describe this place and these people. The vineyard and winery are beyond compare and, of course, the wines they create are stellar. If you can get Tony to give you a tour, you will be doubly lucky! It is easy to find and near the lovely small town of Langoiran where you can find most anything you’ll need. But to truly appreciate the place, you must stay in one of their guesthouses. We were lucky enough to book the lovely Pin for 4 nights. First, the place is beautiful and very clean, it is cozy and the outside veranda is divine for lunch, dinner or wine anytime. The little kitchen is stocked and very functional, the bed is wonderfully comfortable, the linens are all soft and the bath includes all the toiletries you may need. The TV and Wifi work very well. The pool is refreshing and easy. In short, there is nothing you will want for. However, the most stellar part of this property are Youmna and Tony, along with their daughter Yasmina. Outgoing and generous with a smile, they greeted us with open arms and we were immediately at home. Youmna had been so helpful with recommendations of restaurants in Bordeaux, where we’d come from, and in the area, as well as vineyards. We didn’t need anything for our stay but if we had, I know it would have been easy to receive. And we were able to do laundry in a lovely space, which on a 20 day trip, is necessary. In short, we felt like we were visiting family we actually like and I was almost teary to leave. We own a B&B in Austin Texas and it could be said that makes us high-standard guests but it wouldn’t matter here. Nothing, truly nothing, could be done better or with more care. Stay here if it is at all within the area of your visit, we simply give it our very highest...

Read moreLike others who have written and stayed at the Chateau Biac, words do not describe its scenic location, magnificence and the magnanimous nature of the owners, Youmna and Tony. We ended our week long stay in Bordeaux at the Biac and it was our favorite place bar none. (This is saying a lot as we also stayed at Les Sources des Caudalie which was also great but did not receive the A+ for the Biac!). ||||Our timing was perfect. We stayed in L'Olivier, a two-bedroom guesthouse, with a grown daughter. As it was harvest season, the cosmos flowers were abloom outside our window and the vines were laden with grapes to be harvested. We were staying in a house in the middle of vineyards, with a view down to the river and harvesters picking grapes on all sides of us! Fantastique!||||We were lucky enough to have the proprietor give us a 3-hour private tour of every aspect of wine making. We walked through the vineyards and were in the thick of the sorting process bumping elbows with workers. ||||You can google the property as they have a great website which tells the owner's story and provides some history. Still, the pictures do not do it justice and certainly cannot document, Youmna's warm and ebullient ways. She is the ultimate "Hostess with the Mostess." For example, "Do you want to join the family and friends for a festive post-harvest drink and celebration?!" Of course! ||||Superlatives cannot describe Chateau Biac. This is noteworthy as I have travelled extensively all over the world and rarely feel totally enthralled or take the time to write a review of my pursuits on TripAdvisor. That said, exceptions must be made for a property that is truly authentic, captures the region perfectly, and for simple old-fashioned greatness!...
