Biotropica, animal gardens — Attraction in Les Andelys

We had an amazing day here. It was raining most of the day, but we still had a great time. There are a few places to shelter on the outside loop of the park, but there is more than enough to keep you busy inside if it is raining! The range of animals is incredible and they are all so well looked after. Enclosures are a good size and animals look very happy. The information boards are in French and English. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

The lake and parks here also look so good. We didn't use them as it was too wet. However, on a hot day you could easily spend a full day and even a return visit here....

Parc animalier très bien entretenu, très agréable à visiter avec des enfants. Ce n'est pas un parc extrêmement grand mais il y a suffisamment de diversité dans les espèces pour y passer plusieurs heures. Les animaux ont l'air de recevoir les soins appropriés, leurs espaces sont propres. Il y a deux points de restauration, un snack à l'extérieur qui n'est pas ouvert tous les jours, il faut vérifier sur le site internet avant. Un espace couvert avec des tables est installé devant. Il propose des paninis, nuggets, muffins, glaces, granités... À l'intérieur de la serre, il y a un restaurant. Vous avez le choix entre plusieurs plats proposés en menu ou à la carte. Il n'y a pas un choix énorme, trois entrées, trois plats, trois desserts mais ce doit être volontaire car tout est maison. J'y ai déjeuné avec ma fille de trois ans, nous avons très bien mangé. Pour le goûter, il propose des crêpes, glaces,... Les prix sont raisonnables par rapport à la qualité. La boutique propose de nombreux produits, peluches, bijoux, mugs, porte-clés, etc... à des prix semblables à ceux proposés dans d'autres parcs animaliers. Pour conclure, il ne faut pas hésiter à visiter Biotropica, seul ou en famille lorsqu'on aime les parcs animaliers car on y passe un très bon moment. Seul bémol, le parking étant celui de la base de loisirs, il est payant (5€ ou 5,50€...

One tip: There’s a tiny French sign that tells you where to start, pointing down hill. This is because the exit is NOT where you entered but is right at the top of the hill. So definitely start by turning left and going downhill.
