My family went on Friday 22nd August. We parked easily and walked straight in. Bought our tickets for the high ropes with no problem, fuss or wait. It was really well organized. We are a family of four, with 15 year old twin girls. We started on the Green Familee rope courses and had a great time on the first two. We then chose Familee 9 for the long zip wire without getting wet. Unfortunately, being on the slightly large size I built up a good speed on the zip line and crashed into the crash mat at the end quite hard, resulting in a rather random and totally accidental head injury. This was no one's fault, the equipment is in extremely good condition and safety is brilliant. It was just one of those freek things that no one could have prepared for. I completed the course and headed straight for some first aid. The guys in orange were amazing! Pierre took me into a first aid room, cleaned me up and gave me an extremely thorough check over, his English was way better than my French which was really appreciated. Pierre explained how to call the doctor and the doctor told me which hospital to go to. I had 3 stitches as it was too deep to glue. While I was receiving amazing care from Pierre, my girls went and completed 2 more courses involving lake crossing where they had just the best time. It's an amazing place for all ages, loads to do for a full family day out, very reasonably priced. Safe, despite my injury. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. We will be back if we are fortunate enough to come to the Vendee again. Thank you everyone for a wonderful day out and amazing care when it went a bit wrong.
Just a PS to say that we went home to UK the day after and exactly a week later Pierre called my mobile personally to ask how my head was. How's that for good...
Read moreGreat day out for all. Lots of fun climb courses. From the very easy that little kiddies can do to the superhuman.
Tip. Bring a good pair of gloves for climbing. Otherwise buy one for 2 euros at the ticket kiosk. It is a must! For safety and comfort.
If you want to do the hardest - the black Defi run. do it early otherwise you’ll run out of energy. The hardest run, defi 3 is extremely difficult. Superhuman strength and ninja warrior type athleticism required. First is a climb up a tree, maybe 30 meters up? Then it’s rope jump to net 4x. Very scary when you’re 30 meters up. Then it’s monkey bars across 20 meters. Then it’s balancing through an asymmetric structure… I ran out of energy and had to be rescued. Walk of shame.
If you think it’s too hard. Best retire after the tree climb. No shame and you’ll just fall slowly down and at this point, it is Easy to get off. Otherwise. The next point you can get off is after the monkey bars. You’ll still need someone to climb up and rescue you. And There is a...
Read moreThis is a rating for Grand Defi High Ropes course, part of the same attraction. There are at least 25 different trails of ability from Yellow (age 2-3 plus) Blue, Green (family friendly) through to Red (difficult) and Black (the ultimate challenge). The price is around 22 Euro for an adult, less for children, and you can stay for several hours. The safety system is fantastic, you have a compulsory induction. There are plenty of zip wires, including over the lake, and you carry your zip wire attachment around on your harness. Located in Central South West Vendee, in St Julian Des Landes, the park is near Brem, Bretignolles, La Roche Sur Yon, and St Gilles Croix de Vie. This was our 4th visit. The whole...
