Had an amazing day with the kids. There's something for everyone here. I got to relive my youth at the foam party. It was nice to introduce my 12 year olds and other half who hadn't experienced them the first time around. The virtual rafting was fun and a bit different. The ludo park looked really nice for the little ones but we didn't go in it.
Sometimes the queues were long, but they have planted things to provide some shade while you wait. If you can afford it I think it's probably worth investing in one of the VIP access passes. We enjoyed the flumes and slides, but our favourite were the wild rivers, the whole family agreed on that, which is rare. The queues were marginally shorter, but it lasted longer and we would always come out at the bottom in fits of laughter.
It was nice and clean, with plenty of refreshment machines everywhere. A nice quiet spot to relax and eat lunch at o'cayo. I was a bit annoyed though as lots of people had put their towels on the sunloungers in the shade before disappearing for the day meaning when we came to wanting to have lunch there was no canopies. There were plenty of free sunloungers though and we did our best to drag them as much as we could to the edge where there were some trees. People are so selfish. There would be enough for everyone if they just used it when they needed it.
Don't forget to take a bracelet each to take pictures. Be aware they don't work every time. You can look when you scan it in to see if the light goes green which means it has registered. Sometimes it gets other people and sometimes it doesn't work at all, but you can look at what you've captured the end. They are also used to pay for things if you preload them with money (which we didn't do). We brought our own lunch and kept it in one of the lockers (a big plastic tub with a lid.
My suggestion to the owners, taken from attractions in the UK, would be to add drinking water taps around the place for people to refill their bottles and also pumps for free suntan lotion. At times it was quite confusing where we were going and what for. A few more signs in English (mostly about the bouys and which queues were for which bouys and mats, etc) would have helped. We got there in the end though.
Great fun, we...
Read moreI had read a number of negative reviews about the water park and was worried we would have a bad day. I had read some helpful reviews in advance about planning the day and these really helped. We had a great day out and would recommend. My best tip is to go with the right expectations. It is a popular water park so it will be busy and you will have to queue, unless you buy the VIP pass. In my opinion this is standard for any theme park these days. We didn't buy VIP and we did all the slides we wanted to. We arrived at 9:20 to join the queue. We parked with no issues and had our tickets scanned at about 9:50. This gave us time to get the locker box and get to front for when the gates opened at 10am. In all honesty the only thing I really used the box for was my car keys and cards. We headed straight to the Zen zone and got loungers easily. We left our bags and food and whilst we didn't use this space alot it was nice to come back and have a seat for lunch and snacks. There is a field without loungers you can put picnic blankets on- next to the VR rafting. Personally I don't think paying for the VIP cocoons is worth it- the Zen zone has shaded canopies if you get there early and really you will hardly be using the space. We brought our own food and drinks so didn't make use of the charge bracelets Getting there early meant we could do lots without queuing in the first hour. Head to ile de Cayo and do the waterfall walk- once it gets busy you have to tread water for a long time as you queue due to depth of the pool. Beware you can bang yourself at the end of some rides and the joints between the sections are not smooth. We enjoyed the VR rafting, the rapids and wave pools as well as the raft slides, although these had the longest queues-a queue to pick up the raft and then a queue for the slide. My biggest criticism is that you have to have 2 people people in a raft- there is no single ring option.I was with my 2 kids and so had to wait whilst they went on the raft ride Fortunately another mum in a similar position offered to share a raft on the bigger ride. We left the park at 6:45 and left with no queues. Always book in advance- the park is popular so people were being turned away without tickets. All in all a...
Read moreI personally had a good day. We were a family of 20 (toddlers, children and adults) so had to arrive super super early to get some seats. As the day went on, there just aren’t enough seats for everyone. So many people sat on the floor. If you want a seat - Queue much before opening time. As early at 09:00am for opening at 10:00am. We brought packed lunches and also bought things here and there. It’s pricey for what it is but that is fully expected of a waterpark. We had to queue an hour just for food, even though the staff were rushed of their feet doing all orders. I loved the rides but they aren’t sign posted very clearly. Not sure how many people can go on what and at what age until you’re at the front of queue. Most rides you have to be in a pair. Again, all water parks have this but the VIP skip queue is a bit of a joke when you’ve queued for over an hour to go on a ride and you see the same person rushing up there at least twice. We wanted a really good water park photo. Not all of them have a camera for you to scan you wristband. When you do, sometimes it didn’t take a photo. So you go and check out what it looks like on the machines, again sometimes there isn’t even a photo there, the quality is super awful and dark or like a fair few of the photos, there’s a tree branch in front of our faces? Then you can pay €5 a print out and emailed version of the photo. The rides were stills thrill and there’s a wave pool but you don’t want to spend your day in the pools when there’s cool rides to go on. Something...
