Château Haut-Marbuzet — Attraction in Lesparre-Médoc

For many years I have thoroughly enjoyed Chateau Haut Marbuzet to the extent that it is my favourite wine. I booked a visit to the chateau by phone some 2 weeks before we were due to visit Bordeaux. For me this was akin to a pilgrimage and the visit lived up to all of my (slightly romantic!) expectations. Hosted on a one to one basis we walked the grounds and listened to the family and the estate history before entering the winery, cellars and bottling areas. There followed a tasting and as a bonus my wife fell for Chateau Chambert Marbuzet and I endorsed my love of Haut Marbuzet. Chateau Haut Marbuzet was wonderful. We didn’t have an appointment but just drove in. We were welcomed warmly and offered tasting. As we were finishing our wine purchase, Mr Doboscq himself came out of the office to say hello. We had the most pleasant exchange about wine and enjoying wine. He was a lovely man. We told him we had bought 4 bottles to take home. He gifted a bottle that we could “drink while in France”. He was warm and funny. The chateau grounds are beautiful. L'une des plus belles visites de Château

S'il y avait un Château à choisir parmi les centaines d'autres, je conseillerais sans hésiter le Château Haut Marbuzet.

L'un des derniers vignobles familiales du Bordelais

Jouxtant le fameux Cos Estournel et pourtant il n'a rien à envier à son prestigieux voisin, bien au contraire

Un vin subtil avec un caractère qui lui est propre.

En le buvant vous ressentez la passion de son propriétaire qui est un personnage incroyable avec un verbe que j'ai rarement eu l'occasion de rencontrer.

C'est à lui tout seul un livre d'histoire, une passion, une magie, un conteur que l’on pourrait écouter jusqu'au bout de la nuit avec comme il se doit un verre de Haut Marbuzet à la main.

Que d'émotions ressenties lors de cette visite et de ce moment hors du temps.

Si nous n'avions eu des impératifs nous serions restés des heures à partager ces moments magnifiques.
