Château de Ferrand offers a tranquil escape in the heart of Saint Emilion, providing an intimate setting for wine enthusiasts. The service was impeccable, and we were the only guests during our off-season visit, giving us a private experience throughout the château and the quiet village of Saint Emilion.
While the peaceful ambiance may not suit everyone, it's ideal for a visit or a day trip, especially if you're interested in wine tours. However, I'd recommend against an overnight stay unless you're part of a big group or visiting during the season when the village comes alive.
Due to the quiet surroundings and less-than-ideal weather conditions, we opted to move to Bordeaux after our first night. The Château was accommodating, allowing us to exchange our second night for bottles of their exceptional wine, showcasing their commitment to guest satisfaction.
The food at Château de Ferrand deserves high praise, contributing to the overall positive experience. The blending wine workshop was a highlight, offering a valuable educational aspect to our visit, allowing us to deepen our understanding of wines.
Special kudos to Nicolas for his warm welcome, making us feel like valued guests. While an overnight stay may not be everyone's preference, Château de Ferrand's excellent service, delightful food, and engaging wine workshops make it a must-visit for wine enthusiasts. Consider it for a day trip or part of a wine-packed itinerary during the season, and you won't be disappointed.
Might come back when it’s season but not for an overnight - maybe for the tastings and experiences as...

Stayed in the château for two nights with my partner and it was one of the most unforgettable experiences ever! ✨ Decided to splurge because it's not often that you get to stay in a château, especially one that is classified as Grand Cru Classé!
🍷The interior design is impeccable. Every corner, every room, every piece of furniture that is housed in the chateau is so well-designed and they all come together so seamlessly, which was what we really appreciated because each room still had its own unique characteristic and style. 🍷My personal fav room was the wine tasting room - just looking at the cloud chandelier light centrepiece (it's really a work of art) makes me so happy. 🍷The main reception room/ lobby is also so perfectly designed, from the ceiling where this huge blue / cloud-ish structure is placed to the curved screen at the front where you get to taste the wines... amazing 🍷Design aside -- we basically had the chateau all to ourselves because it's HUGE and it's so private. You could roam the chateau in the day and in the evenings, and it got dark only after 10pm so we really enjoyed our time there. 🍷We signed up for the private table dining experience -- no regrets because EVERYTHING about the night was delightful. The food, the decor, the ambience, the service -- highly recommend. 🍷We got treated to a vintage bottle of Chateau de Ferrand , dating all the way to...
Read moreWe stopped by Chateau de Ferrand for a tasting and tour of the vineyards. I was a little disappointed by the lack of wines we tasted. The tour started out pretty nice, we saw the vineyards and got to visit the storage facilities. Very impressive the size of the entire Chateau. Not much history was revealed either. . Just basic information was given. Once we got inside of the Chateau a quick glance at the bottles and vats where the wine was stored. The tasting only included 2 wines and they reused the same glass. What made this Tasting a huge disappointment was how long it took to get there. It seemed they weren’t ready for our group as 5 employees stood around waiting for someone to say something. I was shocked and surprised they used the same glass twice without cleaning. No food or snacks were served as well. At the end of the tour they seemed more interested in trying to sell items from there gift shop. Very disappointing as I know of this Vineyard and was excited to come visit. The history and beauty of this Chateau is very impressive. Too bad the tour guide was...
