Château de l'Estang — Attraction in Libourne

Very disappointing situation when it comes to this chateau. We booked this accommodation to celebrate my in-laws 40th wedding anniversary this upcoming August 2023. All 18 of us, 10 adults and 8 kids were excited to stay here. Unfortunately, the hosts were unresponsive for 46 days after we had paid with multiple attempts to contact them using multiple avenues (email, phone, social etc) re: various questions and details related to our stay. We lost confidence in our hosts and felt very nervous about flying all the way to France to stay somewhere when the person wasn’t even able to message us back in preparation. We decided to end the contract after this experience. They refused to provide all of our money back and blamed us for ending the agreement. This part was very confusing considering we heard nothing from them and were not about to travel there with children in tow and wonder if we even had a place to stay. We all were sick thinking they had taken our money and we would never hear back from them again. Our lack of trust led us to book a new villa and not continue with this chateau. While the Chateau appears to be well appointed and nicely situated surrounded by vineyards, beware of the attitude of the host. After you have paid your deposit the host will ignore you. If you object to this rude treatment they will not accept accountability. If you cannot tolerate the behavior of the host and wish to rent elsewhere they will not refund...
