Beautiful chateau nestled in the heart of the Limousin Region. A wonderful day trip as you explore the incredible scenery and French countryside. Tours provide the opportunity to see an intimate view of the castle and learn about the more famous members of the Bonneval clan. Certainly worth a trip if you are considering a day trip from Bordeaux or Limoges.

Quelle surprise ! On était parti pour visiter un autre château et on est tombé sur le château de Bonneval, domaine privé, un peu éloigné des grandes routes mais proches de Limoges. On a visité le château en bonne compagnie, 4 guides et en plus le privilège d'avoir Madame la Marquise qui nous a ajouté des détails sur l'histoire de la famille, on sent vraiment une passion où chaque détail compte. L'extérieur comme l'intérieur sont très bien conservés. On a beaucoup aimé les différents éléments de décors glanés au fil du temps qui ajoutent de la richesse à ce patrimoine. Je regrette cependant l'impossibilité d'avoir pu faire des photos en intérieur. Je trouve aussi dommage que la visibilité (marketing) de ce château ne soient pas mis davantage en valeur. Un grand merci aux 4 jeunes guides (Aurélie, Anne, Annabelle et Paul) et à l'accueil de Mr le Marquis et Mme la Marquise de Bonneval.

Visited early September . Wow its been in the same family since its construction in 930ad. All original furnishings , and guided tour in English and also met the current Marquis de Bonneval. Well worth a visit .
