Mini Castle Park — Attraction in Loches

A hidden gem - this park and garden setting has 41 scale models of the most prominent chateaux in the Loire Valley. The models are wonderfully detailed, and each model chateau has a plaque with the name, location, and history. The grounds and gardens surrounding the models were beautiful. There was also an educational vegetable garden. We were surprised to read some of the low rated reviews before visiting and can't understand how people could not appreciate the beauty and detail of this park. Really interesting place to visit where you can learn about the château of the Loire area. Lots of fun facts to learn and a great place to find places you would like to visit for real.

Took our 1 year old and she had a great time running around looking at the buildings. Also some extra activities for kids to do to break up the walk around.

Overall an excellent half day visit.

Très jolie visite au parc des mini-châteaux, qui rassemble 41 reproductions des plus célèbres châteaux de la Loire, à l’échelle 1/25e. Chambord, même en miniature, reste impressionnant ! Les reproductions sont globalement réussies et permettent d’avoir un bel aperçu de l’architecture de la région.

Avec nos enfants (4 et 8 ans), l’intérêt s’essouffle un peu au bout d’un moment car les maquettes se ressemblent, mais pour les adultes, la balade est instructive : on apprend brièvement l’histoire de chaque château et le parcours est bien conçu. Quelques petites animations viennent rythmer la visite pour capter l’attention des plus jeunes.

Une sortie originale, à recommander surtout si l’on a déjà visité en vrai quelques châteaux de la Loire et que l’on souhaite découvrir rapidement les autres. Petit bémol : l’eau des bassins gagnerait à être...
